Hi All,

I am trying to configure Nagios for SNMP monitoring.

The Setup is like this,

1. Nagios installed on CentOS 5. Able to login to the web console

2. Windows machine running Backup Exec 11d

3. Able to monitor the Windows machine using nagios client

4. Installed net-snmp on the CentOS 5 machine and install snmptt also

5. Edited the snmptrapd.conf
traphandle default /usr/local/sbin/snmptthandler

6. Compiled the backup MIB to nagios using snmpttconvertmib

snmpconvertmib --in <MIB file> --out /etc/snmp/snmptt.conf

7. I start the SNMPTT in the standalone mode

8. Then I configure the settings on the Windows machine to direct the alerts to CentOS machine (nagios, snmpd machine)

9. I fail a backup Job, but I do not receive any alert on the Nagios console

Do I need to define any service here in the Objects directory ?

Please help me on the same.

Does SNMPTT show the received trap in its log?
