SMPlayer-create "track list" for concert videos? Start time of each song

I've read what SMPlayer (v22.7 in LM 20.1) documentation has on creating "Play List," but that's not the same as a list of songs & starting times, in a "concert" type video.

I'd take having to click some toolbar options to open a track list - anything that's faster than opening a track list file.

On a desktop, I've found if I create a track list as text file, even if SMP is full screen, I can click the app (in panel) that opened the list, & it'll display on top of SMP's screen w/o minimizing SMP.
That's not quite like having the list file auto-open when the video is opened.

On Youtube, etc., I'm not sure how concert vid uploaders create the track lists & make the starting times active links to jump to times in the vid. If Google supplies software for that.

Short of adding a feature to a media player, to create a simple list of titles & times that link to the player, I doubt it'll happen.

One use where using a separate app to open a "track list" file won't work (AFAIK) is viewing a concert on a smart TV, from a USB drive. I haven't tried saving a track list file on a USB with video files. I doubt the TV can open Non-media files, except the TV User Guide.

Maybe someone has found some method that's better than nothing, when watching concert vids on a TV.

Hi

I use smplayer most of the time and I have never noticed a video play list. Can you provide pictures of the feature?

Dave67, thanks, but I think you misunderstood my OP. Didn't say SMP HAD the feature(s) I discussed.

Well, one kind of PIA way is, SMPlayer allows creating bookmarks for a specific time in a video (assume audio) files. With a video open, you can enter a time & description.
I assume it will associate bookmarks made with a specific vid, next time it's opened.
It apparently stores bookmarks (other data?) in separate ini files, IF you check in Perferences > General, "remember settings for all files...", AND further down same settings screen, it's set to "store settings in multiple ini files."

When I bookmarked 2 videos (using settings mentioned), it showed only bookmarks made for the current, opened video. (It could've shown all bookmarks for all vids. I've seen much worse designed behavior.)

If you store settings in ONE ini file, AND you bookmarked 6.022 x 10^23 videos, one of the SMP maintainers mentioned the ini file could get pretty big.
It stores the ini files in ~/.config/smplayer/file_settings. The problem I see, is it stores a lot of current parameters besides song start time. If you create the bookmarks on a desktop, wearing headphones (or many possibilities), then play it on a TV in a large room, some settings may not be optimal. I wouldn't want to edit dozens or 100's of ini files. It may be possible to edit a file that specifies what data is stored in bookmarks.

The "add bookmark" box, and existing bookmarks, show the time on the left & description (e.g., song title) on the right. When browsing bookmarks, the positions are switched. Maybe some want the time shown after the description.

If you want to often jump around in song order, it's only logical to add a button to open Bookmarks UI, on the control bar (bottom) or toolbar at top.

I have been creating music video playlists. I have a country music which holds all of my country music videos which is m3u. Which plays fine in smplayer. I did not update smplayer on my system mine is 19.10.2 and I am on LM-20.3 on this system. I also can create video playlist with VLC which uses the playlist xspf. Maybe for you to have start and stop for concerts maybe use A & B section markers but it might be limited.

One option which is using Avidemux to divide the concerts into single files. Its a flatpak and only available option on Debian based distributions.
