smp and HT on a P4?

with the HT P4 line of CPUs is that counted as a SMP system? the system does report dual CPUs should i be using a smp kernel?

Code:
linux-image-2.6.15-1-686 - Linux kernel 2.6.15 image on PPro/Celeron/PII/PIII/P4 machines
linux-image-2.6.15-1-686-smp - Linux kernel 2.6.15 image on PPro/Celeron/PII/PIII/P4 SMP machines
so what should i use if i have a P4 2.4G HT 800Mhz FSB CPU?

i am guessing i should use just the 686 and not the 686-smp. please fill me in, thanks.

HT is not SMP but SMn (some other letter there) Can't remember off the top of my head. Give the SMP kernel and try and see if you notice a difference, it shouldn't overwrite your old kernel and it'll be easy to switch back should you run into any issues.
