Hi. I am using Mozilla Firefox to browse the web and currently, I have been experiencing extremely slow page loads. The odd thing, is that the pages only load slowly when I'm on Linux. Comparing windows with linux, I have a 30second load difference. On windows I am using Mozilla Firebird (a little outdated). The problem is not cache, I've tested sites i've never gone to before.

I also called my ISP and they did a line test when I had just this computer connected to the cable modem while on Gentoo. They said my connection was fine and no packets were being lost. I'm pretty confused and if anyone has any suggestions, that'd be great. Thank you.

was a DNS problem

How did you fix it?

changed the DNS servers in /etc/resolv.conf to new ones.

What did you change them to?

It seems like a lot of people are having this problem and some more detailed info would be very helpful.

Where did you find new server addresses?
