shell questions


1 . /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions
why . exist
2 echo $"Usage: $0 {start|stop|restart|reload|abort|flush|check|status|condrestart}"
why $ exist in this command before quotation mark

1. If you'd read that file using eg 'more' you'd have seen

# -*-Shell-script-*-
#
# functions This file contains functions to be used by most or all
# shell scripts in the /etc/init.d directory.
#

cnhawk386, you have already been warned about using LQ for your homework. If you continue this behaviour then you are most likely going to lose your privileges to post on this site.
