Sendmail prefix

Hi,
I need to install sendmail on a virtual server so it runs under my permissions. I have the source, but I see no way to adjust the prefixes of sendmail. What I want is for the install to treat my home directory as root, so it would install to: [home]/etc, [home]/usr etc... Does anybody know how I might go about this?

Thanks!
Mike.
