secure ftp server

okay gurus.

I just got a call from a vendor who is dropping a server we communicate with. We have a 3 weeks to get a server in place doing 128 bit SSL, secure ftp and file compression (PKzip compatible), tested and productional.

I'm still a newbie so I need some advice. I have RH8.0 installed on a sandbox but have not done much with it yet.

regards!

Pure-ftpd is pretty good, I don't know about ssl compatibility. But I do know that you will have to make sure the SSL is installed on your machine.

Best advice is to check out some of the more popular ftp servers...

wu-ftpd
pure-ftpd
pro-ftpd

are a few.

Good Luck

I'm looking to maybe use vsftpd that comes with RH8.0. I've been looking @ a very good post from Feb 2003 from "gurumaster". I found it after my first post. It is useful for setup but does not answer the SSL issue.

for? sending secure transactions to a bank. daily batch jobs.
