second X DISPLAY steals focus on application exit

When an application ends in my second X display, :1, it steals focus from :0, as though I had hit <Ctrl><Alt><F8>.

For example,
from my main X in :0, (<F7>) I type:
Code:
bash -c "env DISPLAY=:1 xterm"
<Ctrl>-C
The Ctrl-C signal causes the displays to switch.

Is there an argument I can pass to X upon invoking :1 to tell it not to steal focus like this?
