Exclamation sct (Set Color Temperature) has stopped working.

Hi.

I just noticed this recently.

Perhaps an update did something?

I'm running Debian 11 + MATE + X11 with an AMD GPU.

Any ideas on a fix?

Thanks.

I suggest removing the package than reinstalling it. If that does not correct the issue it may be broken due to a new kernel update.

It seems to still work as a cron job but not if I run it manually. When I run it manually and put in 3200 for example, it resets the screen color to the default 6500K.

This isn't windows - that "fix" won't work.

Not impossible but fairly unlikely on Debian Stable - also, it seemingly still works from cron.

man sct says it resets to 6500 if no options are passed.

Check your command line is valid.
Compare closely to the cron entry that works.

Try calling it with the full path, to eliminate any alias or such.

Hi dc.

Code:
sct 3200 # resets to 6500K
but

Code:
/usr/bin/sct 3200
works!

I've figured out the issue. I had sct as an alias, I've since changed the alias name and 'sct 3200' works fine again.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I have purged an application and re-installed it and it did fix the issue in the past. Though does not always work.
