Scroll Lock key broke in xorg?

Hi,

I purchased an keyboard from sunbeamtech.com that has an LED Backlight for the keys. If you press scrolllock it suppose to toggle the lights on, if you press it again it should toggle it off.

If I get in to a real console (CTRL - ALT - 1-5) then this functionality works. It toggles the LED on/off.

As soon as I control-alt to xorg though, the light turns off, and the scroll lock will no longer toggle the lights on/off.

What can I do in xorg to fix this?

Here's something I pulled up, but do I *have* to patch xorg's source or is there another way?

Oddly enough, it works in windows fine. Of course. ;-)

After upgrading xfree from 4.2.x in Debian testing, scroll lock key
stopped working as group toggle key. Because it was working this way
years back and because scroll lock led is used to indicate second group,
i think, it should be used this way again. I wrote a little patch to
enable it again.
I am using Debian GNU/Linux testing

You can control the scroll lock led by running:
Code:
xset led 3
xset -led 3
but I don't know if that will turn on/off the backlight of your keyboard. What you've found is about the group_toggle option of xkb that uses the scroll led to indicate changing groups (i.e. when switching between languages).
