A couple of days ago a upgraded a bunch of my packages through APT (via upgrade all) and I think I overwrote something that controlled my screensaver. I had xscreensaver installed and was enjoying my great matrix screensaver for a while now, but since upgrading packages my screensavers dont appear anymore. (None of them, not even the standard KDE ones) By clicking Test in the Screensaver manager, they DO appear no problem, but they wont appear while leaving the mouse idle. I've go the "Start screensaver automatically" box checked. Im running kde 3.1 and RH9. Any ideas?

The sceensaver in KDE is not the same as xscreensaver. You actually have to turn the KDE screensaver off and then set xscreensaver to run automatically at startup. You can do this by adding a line to your .xsession file to invoke xscreensaver, or you can add it to your autostart directory.
