i did a research about this topic and couldn't find clear directions to my question.

i have just started with linux and i'm still learning to use apt-get and all the good tools, but i'm trying to download and install a screensaver and sound mixer(similar to windoze) with the icon on the taskbar and all...

well, i have a knoppix(i think debian) with KDE. kernel is recompiled with sources to 2.6.15.....

on the KDE control, there is a sound part, but even if i click show icon on taskbar it wont show for nothing. so for this i was thinkin in installing something new. (i guess)

for the screensaver, i'm completely lost. i saw something X scrensaver, but i'm really lost about it.

check out your applets (right click on panel, add, applets). there is usually a interface for your soundserver included there.
