Screen proportion 4:3 only

Hi guys,

I have a screen display problem. This morning I booted my machine and the screen display had changed. In the parameters, only 2 resolutions are offered and both in 4:3 proportion (16:9 has disappeared). I tried with another screen but the problem remains. I did a apt-get update and upgrade. when I do a xrandr command, it doesn't display the other resolutions I had before...

Do any of you have an idea how to get and set back the resolution ?

thanks a lot,
Luca

First thing I'd check is the video driver. Old drivers (vesa, framebuffer, etc) only did 4:3
