Is there a program that can be scheduled to record from say "line in" at any pre-programmed time?
We need to be able to do this at our radio station, to later monitor our broadcasts.
Depends on what recording program you use. Once you figure out how to start recording from the command line you can setup a cron job. I suggest that you investigate cron. Cron jobs are jobs that are run at a specified time/day/interval... anyways here's a link to get you started on cronjobs http://www.webmasters-central.com/t/cron.shtml
audacity doesn't seem to have too many options, like I wouldn't know how to just automatically start recording instantly. arecord seems like it might be a good program, ctkroeker. BTW http://www.google.com type in sound recording linux and you'll be on your way
