samba printing blues

I've setup samba, I can 'mount' a dir on my local winslow box and i can see the Linux drives as a share from the winslow box but I cannot print from my linux box to the winslow printer - help?

It's an obvious question, but I have to ask. Are you able to print from Linux to the printer? Samba defaults to allowing you to print to any printer that Linux can print to. Do you have SAMBA setup using the default or a custom configuration?

What distribution are you using?

The printer I want to print to is connected to a shared windows box. It is a Cannon S730 and I am running red hat 8.0 I have not tried connecting the printer directly to my red hat box

Check if your printer is compatible. www.linuxprinting.org did not have it listed so I'm assuming it is not supported.

If it is and you are using it as a workstation with X you should be able to set it up using the redhat-printer-config-gui (or something like that) utility. If you don't have it installed, I would do so. Its pretty straight forward with this utility.

Have you tried that?
