Unhappy samba configuaration in linux using rpm file

I downloaded a source rpm file for Samba and have configured it. now, i dont know how to run the file. My system keep prompting me that there is no service as Samba or smb. please let me know of how the service should be started and set such that it starts up daily after i boot up the machine? i created new users to the samba group with the samba configuaration that was already there in the machine. then, it was not working...i mean the users were not able to open the login box. so, i removed the rpm file that was already there and downloaded the latest version of samba as a .src.rpm file. now, i have configured it but am not able to start the service. Please respond immediately as running samba is very important to me and my colleagues now.
