Samba & Smb4k Issues
I'm using Kubuntu 9.10 on one of my laptops & 10.04 on another laptop, I also have 2 windows xp computers. After networking all computers, only my 2 linux computers use SMB4K Version 0.10.4 . My window computers access and share files back and forth, and my windows machines can also access my linux shared files, but from both of my linix machines I open SMB4K, and click on scan network, and vioala it shows all workgroups and all the hosts are shown as I click on each workgroup and the host list drops down. But unfortunately after I click on any of the hosts in a workgroup it says "querying host for list of shares", then eventually after recieving no errors, it says "done", but the share list never drops down, eccept if I click "Guru" the host computer I'm working on it drops down the shared file list just fine, then I can click on the shared file of choice and it automatically mounts it. For all of the other hosts, I have to go to the host computer and write down the host name & name of the shared file I want to mount, then I go back to "Guru" and click mount manually, enter the share, IP Address, and workgroup and it then has no problem at all mounting any shared file on any computer. This is the first time SMB4K has done this, I've been using this program for a couple years. The only difference is that I just freshly installed Kubuntu on both of my new laptops, instaled all updates, and added them to the network. I've never been able to network a linux computer, but decided I'd just take the time and get it figured out.
What do I need to do, to be able to click on the host, and it shows the shared files for that host, so I can then 1 click mount them ?
I'm thinking it is a setting in smb4k or Samba, but not sure which one...
