rss-glx_0.8.1 package wouldn't start in Mandriva 2008

Hi.
I have installed a rss-glx_0.8.1-7mdv2008.0.i586.rpm package for the openGL screensavers. I use Mandriva 2008, 32-bit version and an nVidia video card.
The package required the Xscreensaver, I did that and it was installed ok. When I go to the KDE desktop properties, to the screensaver selection, I see all of them "available" but they don't work. What am I missing here?

thanks

I guess I can answer my own question today.
It may not be an exact solution of the problem. It's more like a fix that I invented not knowing HOW to fix the REAL problem.

Anyway - I wanted to install the Really Slick Screensaver package, which I did, thru Madriva's software manager. Well, the program appeared to be installed but the screensaver selection didn't work. (I was really interested in one particular saver - Lattice. It includes (please, don't laugh..) flying donuts. It's soooo cool..
mmmm.. donuts..)
I would go to KDE's screensaver panel and the Lattice was there but no picture. Doh!
Other modules worked fine (i.e. Anemone, the first one on the list). So, the fix I invented was this:
I found two files needed for Lattice saver:
one - lattice.exe in the /usr/lib/xscreensaver folder
two - lattice.xml in /usr/share/xscreensaver/config/ folder

I renamed them to anemone.exe and lattice.xml, I went back to KDE's screensaver panel, I selected 'anemone' and it worked!

Woohoo!!
