Question RH 7.1 installation

I am installing RH 7.1 on a system with an ATI Radeon AGP 64 MB DDR card. Everything goes fine until I do a test setting on the colour and resolution after which everything goes blank and I lose control of the machine. Any help would be appreciated.

might want to check out www.xfree86.org on what version your card is supported under xfree86 or if there are updated drivers for that card.

I visited that website but they might as well be speaking another language. I am new at this and presently lack the familiarity with how to operate this system. I do hope Red Hat tech will be more helpful.

this is off the redhat.com site.. http://hardware.redhat.com/hcl/?page...tails&hid=2233
and this is off the www.xfree86.org site... http://www.xfree86.org/current/Status6.html#6

it seems that redhat 7.1 is shipped with XFree86 4.0.3 which didn't totally support the Radeon card, but you can try what they suggest off their site.. but it seems that if you upgrade to XFree86 4.1.0, your Radeon card is better supported.
