I am doing my first install of linux ever and I think I chose a quite challenging machine to do it with. It is a Compaq Proliant 2000 (P90, 224MB RAM, 3x9.1 GB RAID5). I was not able to install RH 7.2 due to there is not a 7.2 version of the embedded SCSI controller driver. I am now trying to get Xwindows configured and am not able to get the video card recognized. I have tried generic settings to no effect. I have been told that the correct settings should be:
Cirrus Logic CL-GD5420, 512K, 1024x768x16 -

What happens when startx is run is that I get less than 1/2 of a window displayed (the top half is black). I can see the mouse cursor if I move it around some. This is pretty weird. It looks like it is defaulting to 320x320 resolution even though I chose 640x480 during the xf86config run.
Any ideas are welcome.
