I have a large number of podcast (mp3 format) that I would like to resample at a higher compression. I know how to use programs such as lame to resample the audio portion. The difficulty I am having is, all the metadata on the audio file is lost. I suppose that I can create a script to copy the data from one file to another using the metadata tools I have. The script would have to discover which data frames are present in the source file then copy them over to the target file. It seems to me that I am reinventing the wheel. I wonder if there is a metadata tool that already has this feature built in, or if there is already a script that does this.

ffmpeg automatically copies meta if present, if not just read the metadata 1st then coph it back into your final ,file
