Remove Mozilla plugin request?

Hi,
I am using plain Mozilla 1.7.12 on Slackware 10.2. I am not a huge fan of flashy web elements that require plugins, so I don't install the plugins.
However, whenever I go to a site that requires a plugin, an annoying popup is displayed from the browser "Bla bla bla click OK to download the plugin".
This is distracting and slows down browsing, is there a way to turn it off or fool Mozilla into thinking the plugins are installed, etc.?
Thanks for any help.

I think if you remove libnullplugin.so it will stop prompting you to load the plugins.
