redirect issues (not > & <)


i attempt to redirect info generated by command such as modprobe or ps. not > and <, which failed to success both the command modprobe and ps when used. thanks in advance.

I guess what you're asking is how to redirect output from a command without using the chevrons as used for file redirection.

For example, if you wanted to redirect the output of the ps command to the program less, you could do this:

ps | less

this will open the output of ps into less.
