Hi all, new to the forum...love it!


I understand that to redistribute Redhat, I must exclude the redhat-release-9-3.i386.rpm package. From what I can find - this package just installs the /etc/redhat-release file.I try to remove this package - but I get this error:

Failed dependencies: /etc/redhat-release is needed by (installed) initscripts-7.14-1

I can't uninstall the initscripts package - because it contains the basic system scripts used to boot your Red Hat system, change runlevels, and shut the system down cleanly...etc.


Is there a way I can get around the licensing issue (for redistributing RedHat) without removing the redhat-release package. Or is there a workaround.
