redhat et all deleting manpages for linux utils, docbook breaks build chains

OH! i did have one other serious problem out of several hundred builds (beyond the usual dependancy issues and code fixes due to "assumed distro" hacks)

redhat or who has been deleting manpages and replacing the with broken "sgml/doc" -enable-man regenerate man pages from Docbook xml. --disable-xmlto or --disable-doc is what i have to use. no manpages.

there are many depends components of docbook (it's not one pkg: it's very man). some are available by ftp only (source code not pre-made packages).

ONE NEEDED build chain tool (for fully sourced docbook) isn't even packaged. has several components (ie, in .zip format) but which are needed and which versions you'd have to read it's wandering discussions to ascertain. the site is ftp only. and after all that: it phones home.

when you try to build MAN PAGES, they first refuse (you have to get xmlto, docbook, xslt, on and on and on) they fail. to get source (remembering this is fully sourced, not some hack binary distro) you are FORCED TO USE FTP for several.

"FTP only" is a total nuisance for people who have serveral hundred items to do.

assuming you do that, when any pkg (GNU, gnome, redhat, any) try to build manpages the docbook libs PHONE HOME for code to run. problem? IP attacks even if sites are clean your local service provider may use IP spoofing.

http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/xml/4.2/docbookx.dtd

http://www.antennahouse.com/XSLsample/sample

on and on. if you want manpages deleted and substitued with "microsoft word ish" docs converted to manpages by phone home software operated from china: WHAT EVER.

if that's not bad enough: you can't get documentation unless you "get specific docubook versions" and that fails because you then need several versions all custom installed (which is not fully sourced to ship source with deleted documentation that's illegal by GPL). just to get manpages. now keep in mind several docbook versions required HUNDREDS of other pkg depends (in all i mean) to be all installed and custom configured - just to get manpages that were DELETED.

but please ship the manpages pre-built without need of phone home software: which is how the packages that have been (in my opion virus hacked) were before you all found them

(ie, if linux utils had manpages and now dont - software who's only documentation is manpages: deleted, and hacked to only build manpages if phone home software calls home to upload source code to compiling machine. not just a little. it's happened ALLOT.)

if that isn't bad enough: your assumed to have a completely up to date system while building the very same system from source. absolutely twisted and brain dead. delete info and manpages substitute with the impossible. hundreds of websites explaining xml sgml docbook dssl blah blah get the win32.zip .dtd from china: so you can have manpages that haven't actaully changed! that are far easier to edit with vi(1) or a ... manpage editor!

hey find if your writing a book use whatever ill editor you have: your "save as" bull for your wishful editor DOES NOT BELONG IN A OPERATING SYSTEM BUILD TOOL CHAIN

please: stop deleting already made unix/linux manpages - and put back the ones you did !! if you don't like manpages then stay away from them altogether

----------------------------------------

new and old linux users have every right to expect, building all pkgs from source, that: README, manpages, and "--help" work.

they have every right to expect seeign simple instructions doesn't required huge documentation "and an IT team and mainframe" to see

have PERFECTLY every right to rest assured that when they build software it is not phoning home / uploading code to run promiscously

have every right to build linux without to build toolchain hacked and damaged to fail at every turn unless one is building what they are already running - just as today's "crews" were given it: un-perverted by attacks

it's just common sense, and i beleive they know that and proceeded with attacks excactly using the knowlege to craft attacks

going back to the previous generation "the bill gates generation". i wish people to remember that generation got UNIX for free (there were no real controls then), and began charging the next generation fees like $20,000 for their value additions (charging for what they for the most part didn't pay for)

this generation: got a UNIX which was impossible to break if used as directed: and broke every rule possible to attack each other in "linux v. microsoft / and cell phone" war attacks

you can hardly run software without issues that are directly related to uploads which intentionally damage backward and forward compatibility; tying hardware and devices to a particular release controlled by (malicous) groups. meaning: f*ing things work only when released (by a particular crew) and work with nothing past or future.
