red hat 9 graphic driver install


hi/

having trouble installing the linux graphic driver -nvidia ia32 run driver-. i start out with the download, then i open a terminal and type in telinit 3 to get out of the x server. now this is where i am lost, after typing in telinit 3, i get to a text page, i then type in my user name, then password, then i get a $ prompt. what do i next to get the driver installed. thanks ronss

navigate to where the shell script is (this is the installer ) and the type ::
./nameoffile.run
or
sh nameoffile.run
of course you will replace nameoffile with the appropriate filename and then you will make the required changes to your XF86Config file as per the readme file, or you can go to the newbie fourm and check out the sticky thread there titled "FAQ: NVIDIA Drivers" and see a quick rundown on the process as compared to what the readme file says..
