Question Red Hat 8.0 Package Manager

The Package Manager on Gnome crashes while scanning irrespective of whether it is launched from the Gnome Start Menu or from the CD. How may I uninstall and reinstall the Package Manager?

are you referring to kpackage manager or a redhat proprietary packing program?

The Redhat packaging thingie still isnt there and Mandrake's rpmdrake took a step backward. Give up on RPM based distros while you still can and compile from Source! May the source be with you!!!

When I click on the Red Hat, then System Settings, then Packages, the "Package Manager" launches. I am queried for root password and provide it. The program launches a screen in which I am told to wait while it checks the system. It then crashes.

To be sure I am communicating. It is the Package Manager that crashes, not the system.
