Recording software anyone??

Hello all. I did a search but couldnt find any threads about this. Hopefully there are none. Wouldnt wanna be a double poster...

Anyway. I was just wondering if there is any recording software for linux similar to ProTools or Cubase (for Mac/Windows). Something that is capable of using an outboard interface like the Presonus Firepod or Digidesign's DIGI-002R. Could someone point me in the right direction if there is one? I dont mind paying for quality software either.

rosegarden looks pretty slick, but there are a few around now.

don't know what those hardware things are
muse and ardour and freinds are my favorites
lots and lots of software to do recording with Linux
if those hardware things are just break out boxes for your soundcard then you will just have to get the soundcard functioning properly which might be the hardest part for very advanced soundcards
