Question Reconfigue Gnome Volume Control

Hi, I'm running Slackware 9.1 and using ALSA as my sound...

I would like to know how to reconfigure the Sound Applet in Gnome (Volume Control) to point the Vol (Main Volume) to Headphones (What Alsa uses)
Main Volume doesn't control my volume, "Headphones" does...

Also how can I get programs that used OSS (accessed /dev/dsp) to work with ALSA?

Any clues how to do this?

Thank you
