hi. I am trying to get myself a qmail server up and running. In the build instructions, you give the command 'make setup check'. However, it is giving me the error "/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lssl" then exits. Anybody have an idea of what this could mean? Googling for this specific error yeilded nothing, but gave me similar errors, all about missing libraries, so I am thinking at this point that it cannot find a ssl library. I have openssl-0.9 installed. Unfortunately, I don't actually know if this is correct, and if it is, how to fix it.

well, updated the sources.list to testing, upgraded everything. Still no go, not a big surprise as on this computer I did mostly source installs. Looked at debian's packages, and apt-get ssl-dev and libssl. One of those fixed the problem.

thanks for the link. I've been there a couple of time. I am actually following qmailrocks.com. Based of off the lifewithqmail.org, lays it out step-by-step complete with custom scripts. I do end up refering to lifewithqmail.org for the couple of problems I've encountered.
