Problems With Network

Hallo.
I have problems with the network: i have a wireless network at home.
I have linux slackware 10.2 kernel 2.6.15.3 with ZyDas zd1201 USB network adapter, and it appears to be identify the network as existing. It's even identified the ESSID! but there is no connection.
I thought mybe there's a problem in my DHCP client, by not getting an IP.
Why can i do, can someone help me?

I was actually wanting you to copy and paste the results. you said:

what led you to belive this? Is the IP assigned correctly when you do ifconfig or not? When asking for help, it's best not to make guesses at what the problem is. If you know for a fact that that is the problem, tell us why. If you just ask a broad "why doesn't my network connect?" no one will be able to help you.

Please don't find my response rude, I did the same thing when I first started to use linux. I will try the best I can to narrow down the cause of your problem so you can ask your question in a more effective way.

regards,
