problems with Grip, and now i can't bring up my terminal!
Well, i thought i was a bad ass. almost got Grip to install correctly. Installed all the packages related to Grip, id3tag support, and online cd artist lookup, but i came accross a problem while finally compiling Grip.
Well if my terminal window would come up, i would copy and paste what it said, so we'll have to think a little bit on this one. First of all, i am using the gnome-desktop. while i was compiling, it gave me an error stating that it could not find the 'vte' library. It told me to specify where the correct location of the files were using PKG_CONFIG_PATH. and so i typed that in correctly but still had no luck. i did an 'rpm -qa | grep vte' to search for what version of vte i had installed, and decided that maybe upgrading would fix the problem.
ran rpm -Uvh 'thenewest.upgrade,' and it installed everything fine. now, it still doens't pass that same spot and i can't open my terminal window under X windows.
i'm not sure if the terminal problem has anything to do with vte, but it suddenlty didn't work at the same time i upgraded the package.
any thoughts on how to get past this point so i can install Grip?? much appreciated.
