I have Ubuntu 10.1 desktop and i have already install Real Player 11, i have used real player previously with other we pages.. no problems so far.
But, i can not see the below video on real player...

I use FireFox (the one it comes with Ubuntu 10.1).

Could you please support me telling me what i need to download in order to see the video?

You might need the gecko media player plugin;
I have it installed here, and after about 10seconds the video starts playing on the website you posted.

Hi, I also have Ubuntu. 9.04 I think. (I don't know about any ubunutu 10.1 version)

My system plays almost anything, but not that page.

If you "view source" you can see that the media to be played is:

rtsp://smil.itesm.mx/ondemand/7/507/7652/3e53ce7c/source-video.itesm.mx/dga/pgade/ga5072/cap4_08_08/cap4_08_08.rm

if you type "mplayer" and then that URL, it tries to play it. However, the site is NOT working, and delivers no playable content.


P.S. @coralfang, I just installed it, and it still prompts me for a plugin to play the content. Maybe I should restart my browser, but I can't be bothered.

I did what you metioned, but it showed me an error at the final. Attached you can see the error.
What i could do to install completely the gecko-mediaplayer?

But, what u did to see the "view source"?

i go to "see" / "view source" or ctrl+u, but still i dont see the "rtsp://smil.itesm.mx/ondemand/7/507/7652/3e53ce7c/source-video.itesm.mx/dga/pgade/ga5072/cap4_08_08/cap4_08_08.rm"

You might have to scroll a bit. It is near a tag called "embed".
