I have a problem with VLC Streaming to a linux client. I installed VLC media player on a windows machine. From there i am streaming a mpeg file to a linux client. It is no problem to create the vod object, and play it on the windows machine (VLC ver.:0.8.5). But when I try to start the stream linux it stopped everytime with an error.

Windows (VLC 0.8.5)
Linux (VLC 0.8.1)

vlc rtsp://192.168.1.10:5554/TestVod

Error message:
[00000217] livedotcom demuxer error: describeURL failed
(connect() failed: No route to host)

[00000216] main input error: no suitable access module
for 'rtsp://192.168.1.10:5554/TestVod'


Anybody had the same error message before?

I'm going to take a stab at this because I remember having a heckuva time trying to accomplish what you're trying.

You may not need to specify the "TestVod" mount point on your linux box - in other words, just point to your windows stream:

rtsp://192.168.1.10:5554

and let vlc 'figure it out'
