problem rrunning pirut after I updated pidgin


OS FC6
I have had this running for a year or so all my updates were currant as far as I know. When I run Pirut from the GUI I get this error: "unable to retrieve software iformation this could be caused by no network connection"
I tryed running from command line.. same thing Then i tried this command yum clean all yum
-y update yum
this is what I got
yum clean all
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Cleaning up Everything
[xxxxxxxxx]# yum -y update yum
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Setting up Update Process
Setting up repositories
core 100% |=========================| 1.1 kB 00:00
http://rpm.pidgin.im/fedora/6/i386/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (-3, 'Temporary failure in name resolution')>
Trying other mirror.
Error: Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: pidgin
