Hey
I'm trying to install mysql 5.0.33 on SUSE 10 and I have one problem. I can configure and make, but then type make install I recievie the following errors

linux/bin/ld: cannot find -lz
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
libtool: install: error: relink `libmysqlclient.la' with the above command befor e installing it
make[3]: *** [install-pkglibLTLIBRARIES] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/mysql-5.0.33/libmysql'
make[2]: *** [install-am] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/mysql-5.0.33/libmysql'
make[1]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1

I hope someone can help me with this problem, because I am new to Linux.

Have you installed the libmysqlclient development files? It sometimes seems to help.
