Thumbs up Problem Install Stack Shield

Hello all expert Linux administrator, i have a problem in install stack shield

I have read the README file but i could not understand at all.

Below is the instructions where i do not understand.
Quote:
Place the ./stackshield-<version number>/bin directory in yor PATH
enviroment variable (note that the "." in the previous directory name
means the complete directory path). Assuming you have installed
Stack Shield in /usr/local/stackshield-<version number> and you use
the bash shell:
PATH=/usr/local/stackshield-<version number>:$PATH
export PATH
You may place these lines in your shell initialization script
(/etc/profile for the bash shell) to set automaticaly the PATH variable on
login.

Thanks for your help.

Your help is greatly appreciated by me and others.

yea thats just saying to augment the shell variable PATH to include the path to stacksheild.
so if you want stacksheild available to all users you alter the PATH variable via /ec/profile
or for just one user the file to alter would be ~/.bash_profile

go now and read the file /etc/profile and you will get it
