Unhappy prob ftp'n images w/vsftp

Hello, everybody, I'll apreciate any help I can get

I have vsftp configured on my RH 9 box and it's running flawlessly with login and everyhing, the only problem I'm getting is whenever I upload or download a perfectly good image (.jpg or .gif) it goes thru all garbled, distorted, same file size, but all distorded, incoming or outgoing, I tried binary, ASCII or Auto and is the same thing, if anybody can help me, I'll appreciate it, Thanks in advance.
My ftp client is WS_FTP95 on WinXP, have used it for a long time and never had a problem like this, so I don't believe is the FTP client.
