presentation on second monitor

is there any way of running powerpoint style slide shows under linux on a second display? I have the box setup with dual monitors working nicely, only to discover that open office, three years on from when they started to develop it, still haven't implemented a choice of which screen to run the presentation on...

???

How have you got dual monitors working? If this is an Nvidia card, and you are using twinview, if you use a screen position of 'left of' or 'right of' you may get it spread across both, but if you use 'clone' then it should only open in one monitor.

I personally don't think it's a problem with OpenOffice, I think it should be a feature expected from the X server (xinerama or Nvidia) not from a piece of software running on top of these things.

Cool

it's an ati radeon 9600 with dual head... I used the drivers from ati.com and used aticonfig to set dual screen. I now have two different desktops on the two screens, and the problem is with open office, as the development in the "bug report" states here. http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=12719

I need to know if there is any other software that will work with the second screen for powerpoint style presentations...
