powerdown problem on VIA EPIA V

I have a EPIA V5000 running Fedora Core 1
its powered using a Morex DC-DC Converter

when I shutdown linux it does the usally shutsdown procedure(umounts fs, shutdown the HD) but then MB stays on with the line 'power off' and I have to take out the plug or shutdown with the powerbutton.

One strange thing is that its says power off and then when I press ctrl, alt, del it says something about md-devices same as some lines before power off before it reboots

I dont want to take out the plug cause Im going to use it for a streaming mp3-player and I want it to shutdown if and when Im sleeping.

what causes this is it the DC-DC Converter?
can I fix it somehow?

also are there any cheap Remotes thats work with linux and mini-itx?
[note: this is a copied post of the one on linitx.org]

it'll not be related to the Morex unit (lovely, aren't they?) the poweroff functionality is controlled by linux itself, assuming that the bios is configured to allow it to do so. i'm pretty sure my epia system (go see animalSNES on mini-itx.com) powers off just fine. make sure you have the rigth kernel options checked for your system.

maybe it has something to do with a kernel option(acpi, apm)

I also have a partion with Red Hat 8 for backup and it cant cant shutdown proberly just like FC 1
on my main computer I have run RH 8, FC 1 and now FC 2 and I have not have any problem to power off so it has to do with the EPIA V
