Unhappy povray.conf missing

I use openSUSE 10.2 with the XFCE Environment, and love it- it speeds up my computer wonderfully.

Recently, I got into POVray, and I made some scripts for it.

when I tried to render I got: "unable to find $HOME/.povray/some path or another/povray.conf.

could I-
1. Have the contents of somebody's file that would work for mine
or 2. learn how to make my own

Do I need to install povray from source, not default rpm, and will that fix it?

Please see 165 pages of documentation in /usr/share/doc/povray-3.6/html/
If it's different in suse: 'rpm -ql povray > povray.txt' to list all files.
The file $HOME/.povray/3.6/povray.conf can be an empty file for a start.
See chapter 1.4.1 : Configuration file format.

well, I cannot access the documentation; it's not there!

I tried your command to no avail. I do have, however, a blank file in that directory, where the povray.conf is supposed to be...

This package povray-3.6.1-3pclos2007.i586.rpm from
http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat....i586.rpm.html
includes the documentation. You can extract the package with:
'rpm2cpio <package.rpm> | cpio -idmv' to read the html-pages.
Good luck !

I just found the file. It was hidden in /etc/povray!]

Thanks!
