Poor sound quality in Linux

Hi.
I'm from Poland and sorry for my bad english.
I have sound card Asus Xonar DG and headphones Creative Aurvana Live.
On Windows sound quality is amazing, but on Linux sound quality is poor.
Linux no have dedicated drivers.
How to increase sound quality in Ubuntu or others Distros?

use latest kernel version and check if your sound card is fully supported. You can try results of several linux distros if you boot them from unetbootin but generally only ones with latest updates should be able to fix problem. If you want to dig deeper submit a chipset name.

Sadly this is normal. I have a Thinkpad X230 and the audio quality in Windows is good with Dolby enhanced sound, in Linux it is near unusuable. I understand why (Linux is to small a market for hardware vendors to devote time/effort) but it's still frustrating. Dig around and you may find Linux drivers for your sound system then again maybe not. This is one reason I dual boot all my machines with Win 7...

agree with Yooy, check your audio chipset and search whether there is a Linux driver.
