Playing around with Asterisk PBX software

I have noone else to ask, so I've come here. Recently I've been playing around with a caller ID spoofer that my friend led me on to. It made me want to learn more. I've discovered how easy it is to spoof caller ID especially with a VOIP service and open source Asterisk PBX software. I've been googling for hours trying to find a tutorial on how to get it working. Most tutorials assume you have advanced knowledge of how this stuff works, but I'm looking to start at the beginner level (I don't even have any access to a VOIP service yet). Can anyone help?

Try the AdminsParadise Voip PBX and Fax System

I'd give the adminsparadise voip server a go. It can be administered via a web interface.

Free Enterprise Grade Fax and Voip Server with full feature set.

Web based Administration of Fax Server and VoIP PBX
Fax server allows thumbnail previews, archives, uploads
VoIP Server provides full phone system with music-on-hold, scheduled conferences, web based administration, paging, parking, IVRs, roaming user, and more

There is a LiveCD so you can burn an iso and test it out and an installation CD that provides an automated install of the system on a server.

There are thumbnail previews, and flash based movie tutorials available.

Request a tutorial in the forum and we'll create a flash movie stepping you through it!!

We are about to upload a user guide -- "The Ultimate Enterprise VoIP Phone and Fax system for Free"

so stay tuned.

later
