phpMyAdmin

Hello everyone.
I just installed MySQL 5.0.20a on my slackware 10.1/2.6.13.
I have to mention that I didn't upgrade from the pckage that comes with slack 10.1 cds.
Then I installed phpmyadmin phpMyAdmin-2.6.3-pl1.tar.gz I did the apropriate configurations on the config.inc.php and tried to connect to my localhost/phpmydmin.
I am getting this error:
An error occurred while loading http://localhost/phpmyadmin:
Timeout on server
I went and checked apache's error_log and I see this:
PHP Warning: Unknown(): Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php/extensions/mysql.so' - libmysqlclient.so.14: cannot $
[Mon May 29 12:54:04 2006] [notice] Apache/1.3.33 (Unix) PHP/4.4.0 configured -- resuming normal operations

I am new to linux.
I will apreciate any help.
Thank you

Hi!

It seems there is a part of the error message missing, right after "cannot $". Could you check?

Best regards,
