PHP5 xml2-config

I am running mandrake 10.1 community, and trying to install PHP5 with mysql support, everything goes fine until I get the error "error: xml2-config not found. Please check your libcml2 installation" the command that I use is
./configure --with-mysql=/usr/share/mysql/ --with-libxml-dir=/usr/local/src/libxml2-2.6.11
I have the utility xml2-config installed in that directory also, allong with a symbollic link in my sbin folder. Does anyone know how to fix this?
