PHP4 Files

I am running SuSE Enterprise 9 with php4. When I try to run a php file (install.php) from the browser I get a message that the browser does not know how to handle the file.

I changed the name of the file to install.php4 and run it from the browser the contents of the file is opened in the browser.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Are you accessing the file via apache? What url is in the browser address bar?

Do you have the php module loaded and configured? Can you post the output from:
grep -i php httpd.conf

David,
Thanks for the reply. I was able to figure it out. It was a combination of things. The code (files) needed to all be changed to the suffix php4 and I had to load some modules.

Thanks,
