Petition for Shockwave!

Petition Link:

http://www.petitiononline.com/linuxswp/petition.html

I propose that we create a petition for Macromedia to create a Shockwave for Linux! The Flashplayer stuff we have only goes so far, and for things like playing Weezer's Hashpipe videogame on their website, I feel very left out as a Linux user! What say ye, fellow Linux users? Who's with me?

*BTW, I'm talking about a shockwave plugin and player, not necessarily something like ShockwaveMX...

Please post here as well, if you've signed, so we have some idea of how many LQ memebers are contributing.

I strongly believe that if we get enough people, they'll make a port for the plugin. I mean, honestly, we have the flash plugin, but no shockwave?

Create the petition and I will be the first to sign it. I will also get all the students attending my course to sign it. So create a petition and post the URL.

It seems that petitions have not been that effective in the past but I'm all for it. I'll sign it no problem. Their is a petition to boycott the company that makes Counter Strike because they did not make a Linux port. They haven't gone out of business yet so I'm assuming the petition has not been successfull yet.

I have not used Counter Strike since I signed that petition, neither have any of my friends.

What would be the best way to make a petition? Just create a webpage, then have a guestbook-type function inside it?

The link:

http://www.petitiononline.com/linuxsw/petition.html

Should any changes arise, I could create a new one. This just looked like a good, simple form to use. And I think the URL would look better than any that would come from any website I leech off of(Netfirms, Yahoo, etc)

Please post here as well, if you've signed, so we have some idea of how many LQ memebers are contributing.

r_jensen11 I signed the petition. However you need to see if you can change the typo's:
cororate and residentual is spelled "corporate and residential" - see if you can change it.

Signed. Will CC an email to all my students, all the coding we do is in *nix so I am sure that they will add their voce to the petition.

Cheers,

Vlad.
