Hi

*** While installing 'Perl/tk' module in my system i followed the below steps, but i got an error which is mentioned below. Can someone please suggest me how to resolve and install the module:-

Steps followed to install the 'Perl/Tk' module:

1*** bash$*cd*Tk800.022 (Tk module to install)
2*** bash$*perl*Makefile.PL
3*** bash$*make
4*** bash$*make*test
5*** bash$*su
6*** root#*make*install

At Step no.3 i got the below error

ERROR* :**

cp tkIntPlatDecls.t ../blib/arch/Tk/pTk/tkIntPlatDecls.t
cc -c* -I..* -I. -Ibitmaps* -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -xarch=v8 -D_TS_ERRNO -xO3 -xspace -xildoff*** -DVERSION=\"804.03\"* -DXS_VERSION=\"804.03\" -KPIC "-I/usr/perl5/5.8.4/lib/sun4-solaris-64int/CORE"*** ClientWin.c
sh: cc: not found
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `ClientWin.o'
Current working directory /Tk_dir/Tk-804.030/pTk
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `pTk/libpTk.a'

I also exported the location of the file 'cc' to PATH.

Thanks

I Installed 'gcc' and ran the command 'make' but now its displaying that 'make' command is not found. So i found the 'make' in the Path-> /usr/ccs/bin/make and i exported this path. The machine i am using is a Solaris (Solaris 10 has been installed )

Maybe you would need to install gmake also.

Either edit the Makefile : Edit cc to gcc

Or : cd <location-of-///bin/gcc> && ln -s gcc cc
