perl module

Hi all,

I'm trying to build the TK module to my Perl installation.
I do:

perl Makefile.PL PREFIX=/../perl/5.8.8

This goes OK. Then I do a perl test and the test ends with the folowing error:

/usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so when searching for -lX11
/usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.a when searching for -lX11
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lX11
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [blib/arch/auto/Tk/Tk.so] Error 1

I don't understand this error. LibX11.so and libX11.a are available.
On google I can't find anything about -1X11.
Maybe I'm missing a library, but I have no idea which one.

Please advice.

Thnaks in advance.

You probably need to install the xorg development package. It should be named something like xorg-x11-devel, libxorg-x11-devel or something similar.

Problem solved!
I was trying to install perl TK module 804.027.
I saw another post on the perlforum that someone had the same problem I have with RH Enterprise 4 64Bits,

I have download the new version which was released yesterday. version 804.028.
Now I installe the perl module succesfully.

Thanks for your effort.
