PCManFM 1.2.3 - Custom commands: keep terminal open

Good morning.

I have defined custom-commands for the “Open with” option in PCManFM and, for those that run in a terminal, chose to keep the terminal open after execution.

It looks like this works for some terminals but not for others. I can configure PCManFM to open Xterm and see the results of a command, but lines are not wraped. With Roxterm this does not work and the terminal is closed immediately. Also, the Roxterm stays empty with no sign of the executed command or program.

For the time, this does not cause trouble, but I would like to be informed about the outcome of file-operations. I am most bugged with a call to
Code:
tar -xJvf "%F"
as I would like to see each file handled alright. Today, I have to open the resulting archive to verify.

Do I need to know something about the terminals at my disposal? What may be the difference between Roxterm and Xterm in respect to the PCManFM custom commands? And if someone already uses Roxterm and knows what to do to PCManFM to force the desired behavior, I am not against learning...

pcmanfm preferences => advanced => terminal emulator

and the heading says: "commands below may include extra options if necessary".

now, this is a little different for each terminal, but all of them have an option to NOT close after execution.

Currently I cannot claim to have seen such an option for Roxterm. But it also looks like my observation covered just one of the cases, where Roxterm acted differently from XTerm. There are more nuances to it.

For the time I mark the subject solved, as ondoho has a point there. And I added a
Code:
read a
at the end of those scripts that run smoothly. This keeps the terminal open.

Now, I just cannot test scripts from PCManFM, as roxterm still would not let me see the error-messages, in case there are any. But that is unimportant and the fact tells me that there is a problem in my code.

Thanks

i looked at the man page and can't find it either.
could still be in the ui preferences though.
anyhow, i thought maybe it's possible address the problem on shell level, so instead of
Code:
roxterm -e
your pcmanfm preferences would read sth like
Code:
roxterm -e sh -(unknown options) -c
i had a quick ducky on this, and the results are manifold:
